I lived in Chile, South America as a missionary kid till I was eight. I learned Spanish and English at the same time, and learned to read and write Spanish first! (It's easier than English because it has so few exceptions) Then I moved around some in the US and am now living in Denver, CO, probably to stay. :) I am currently in high school with the Classical Conversations program in Challenge 1.
I believe that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, just some are more obvious than others and in different areas. We are all unique with different abilities, and that's wonderful. I want to use my abilities to help those whose talents lie in areas besides the ones we're studying, or those who are simply younger than me, and as such are at a different stage of learning. I also believe that anyone can learn something from anyone else, whether it be a character trait, a skill or something academic. So not only will I be tutoring your child, but I will also be learning from her/him, and consider that an opportunity for improvement and friendship. I do not see myself as better than the student, just perhaps a little more experienced in that area. ;)
